چکیده
The observed two-point correlation functions of galaxies in redshift space become anisotropic due to the geometry of the universe as well as due to the presence of the peculiar velocity field. Expanding the induced anisotropies of the correlation functions with respect to the redshift z, we obtain explicit expressions for the deceleration parameter q0, the density parameter Ω0 and the derivative of the bias parameter db/dz at z = 0 in terms of the observable statistical quantities. The present method does not require any assumption of the shape and amplitude of the underlying fluctuation spectrum, and thus can be applied to future redshift surveys of galaxies including the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. We also evaluate quantitatively the systematic error in estimating the value of β0 ≡ Ω 0.6 0 /b from galaxy redshift survey on the basis of a conventional estimator for β0, which neglects both the geometrical distortion effect and the time evolution of the parameter β(z). If the magnitude limit of the survey is as faint as 18.5 (in B-band) as in the case of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, the systematic error ranges between −20% and 10% depending on the cosmological parameters. Although such systematic errors are smaller than the statistical errors in the current surveys, they will definitely dominate the expected statistical error for future surveys. Redshift maps of galaxies in the Universe are distorted by the peculiar velocities of galaxies along the line of sight. The amplitude of the distortions on large, linear scales yields a measurement of the linear redshift distortion parameter, which is β ≈ Ω 0.6 0 /b in standard cosmology with cosmological density Ω 0 and light-to-mass bias b. All measurements of β from linear redshift distortio...

Gravitational lensing can be used to analyze the redshift distribution of faint galaxies. In particular the magnification bias modifies locally the galaxy number density of lensed sources observed in lensing clusters. This depletion area probes the redshift distribution of galaxies beyond B = 25. In this proceedings I present this new tool to infer the redhsift distribution of faint galaxies.

The dark energy cosmology with the equation of state w = constant is considered in this paper. The ΩDE−ΩM plane has been used to study the present state and expansion history of the universe. Through the mathematical analysis, we give the theoretical constraint of cosmological parameters. Together with some observations such as the transition redshift from deceleration to acceleration, more pre...

The combination of measurements of the local abundance of rich clusters of galaxies and its evolution to higher redshift offers the possibility of a direct measurement of Ω 0 with little contribution from other cosmological parameters. We investigate the significance of recent claims that this evolution indicates that Ω 0 must be small. The most recent cluster velocity dispersion function 1 fro...

Lensing tomography with multi-color imaging surveys can probe dark energy and the cosmological power spectrum. However accurate photometric redshifts for tomography out to high redshift require imaging in five or more bands, which is expensive to carry out over thousands of square degrees. Since lensing makes coarse, statistical use of redshift information, we explore the prospects for tomograp...
